Back from Hiatus

Where to begin? I'm so sorry to you guys for not keeping my promise. Spring of Junior year hits you like a train. SAT prep classes, school work, and extracurriculars make my head spin and I was in the worst artist's block. A random encounter in Harvard Square has inspired me again and to keep blogging my work. To that kind stranger, this post is for you.

Enough chatter, let's get to the good stuff. Here are some photos I've been working on in my Photography class.

More to come guys! Enjoy!

I'm Back!

Junior year is a challenge, to say the least. With school work, extra curricular activities, and SAT classes it's hard to keep up! It's a good thing I'm at in a photography class so I can exercise my skills! Sometime next week I will scan my negatives so I can post them!

I also have some exciting news dear readers...one of my photos has been chosen to be published in the Marble Collection! It is a magazine that publishes art from Massachusetts high school students! As I am told, the selection is extremely exclusive. So it is an honor to have a piece published. I believe this copy comes out in the near future, I will keep you updated! In the meantime, here is the soon to be published photo!

Summer's End

Another summer has come and gone and a new school year has snuck up behind us. I am always amazed how those wonderful weeks just fly by. Here are some more of the photo work I have done this  summer.

Goodbye summer 2012.

And the rockets red glare...

The Fourth of July is one amazing holiday. A day of celebrating freedom with barbecues, spending time with friends and family, and -my favorite- watching the fireworks! I have picked up quite a few techniques and I think they have improved since last year. Check them out!

Alexandra

This past memorial day weekend, I stayed over at my friend Alexandra's house. (I usually call her by her nickname "Feesha" because I know at least 15 people named Alex) It was near the end of a gorgeous day and the light was now soft and perfect for shooting (this is also known as "the golden hour" to photographers). Alexandra wanted me to take a headshot for her because hers was out of date. So we went outside and I gladly took the portrait and made both a color and black and white copy.

After that was done, we decided to have a little more fun with our photo session.

Spring Has Sprung

It has indeed. It has been a wonderful season so far with some hot and sunny days and some cool and rainy days. Plants are now become vibrant and more alive and the animals are coming out and running free. It is also a wonderful time for photographers, especially if you like to shoot nature like I do. Here is what I have done so far this spring.

Thank you to Kayleigh Morin for posing for me! (Check out her blog here)

The Heat Is On (Part II)

The week after break was less stressful that I thought it would be. I got a bit more editing done and now have more photographs to post from spring break. So here are a few more photos, as I promised.
